WiFi Sync and PocketPC User

Tap PDA MobilePos-> Tool-> Config connection-> Auto Config

If Auto Config fails, type in your local PC address and Port. Obtain your PC IP address by select start, run, type cmd and press enter. Type ipconfig and enter. The port by default is 3001.

If port 3001 is being used by other program, you can determine your MobilePos port by

1. stop your mobilepos on your pc

2. click start->all programs->doitech->start mp server.

3. note the second last line in the mp console. Example below

INFO: Starting Coyote HTTP/1.1 on port 3001

If default port 3001 is not available, you will see another port number.

Firewall

A simpler way is to turn off firewall for the time being. You can configure your firewalls once MobilePos is working. Add your PocketPC address to your firewall trusted address. Open the mobilepos port in your firewall.

Common error when firewall is not configure properly

 “Request failed [20]: A TCP connection error occurred!”.

Simple network test

1 Testing server installation.

   click "Start/Programs/DoiTech MobilePos/TestServer", a browser window will be opened to connect to the server e.g. http://localhost:3001/wsp/services/ProductDB. If you can see some response content with ProductDB instead of an error message, it means that server is running correctly.

2 From another PC, open a browser window

   go to the above address (replace the localhost with actual IP), if you can see the same response content, it

means that the network configuration of Doitech server is correct.

Internet Sync

Tap PDA MobilePos-> Tool-> Config connection-> type your internet IP address and port, by default is 3001.

If you have a dynamic internet IP,

1. Get yourself a free domain name at www.dyndns.com

2. Install the free DynDns IP Updater from www.dyndns.com. It will track your IP address.

3. Add a port forwarding entry on your Router. See help here.
